FINE ART
Born in Hong Kong in 1968, Claire received her BS in graphic design
from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo. She has pursued
fine art for the twenty five years. Claires focus on art as
a vehicle for expression and emotion became her focus in 1987, when
she was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma. She has studied at The Academy
of Art in San Francisco, Santa Monica City College and Cal Poly
State University. In the Spring of 2004, she is planning an intensive
study in the village of Aureille under the mentorship of Cass Shaw.
Claire has exhibited in the United States, from the Arthur Ross
Gallery "Confronting Cancer through Art" show in '97 and
'2000 to shows in cafes and private collections in the Southern
California area.
In her graphic design approach as well as her paintings, the spatial
interaction of color and the feelings colors evoke in its relation
through experience is apparent in each of her pieces. Through use
of color composition and layers of textures, each piece is meant
to engage the audience into interacting with the paintingas it takes
them through their own emotional journey.
"Abstract art that inspires growth and healing".
